For years it has been a distant dream of ours to live mobile, and COVID-19 was just the nudge we needed. As soon the virus hit the US, my organization went to 100% work from home with little intention to return to the office. While on vacation in Hilton Head South Carolina my aunt passed away after battling ALS and I knew at that point life was too short to not pursue our dreams. We do not have everything figured out, the stakes are high, but the reward will be so much greater. We came home from that vacation and began preparing our house to sell. We had it on the market and under contract for sale 1 month later.
We sold our rear living tow behind camper for an older fifth wheel that we will be renovating to be practical and homey. We traded our 1500 Silverado in for a 2500 Sierra and as I type my beloved Tesla Model 3 is listed for sale. The last thing to list is our 20 ft SeaRay boat.
I will maintain my current job working remote as a Scrum Master and Roger will be a utility player working oncall for a fire department while we are in Michigan, focusing on growing Let’s Cut Carbon, and most importantly roadschooling Mila.
Our Nanny Sammy has been invaluable and the best TeTe we could have asked for over the last 3 years for our sweet Mila Jo. She will be embarking on her own adventures in Charlotte North Carolina, but we will have a spare bed for her whenever she wants to visit. For more on Sammy’s adventure follow @Sammyra on IG.
We have very clear goals to guide decisions along this adventure.
- As a family, explore the natural beauty this Earth has to offer.
- Make a positive and meaningful environmental impact everywhere we go.
- Reach total financial freedom.
- Make new memories, new friends, and share our adventures with you as a tool for inspiration.
We plan to stay in most locations for one month at a time with homebase being Michigan for a couple months every year in the summer. In 2020 we will be in Michigan through the end of September, central Virginia in October, and Asheville North Carolina in November.
We want to hear from you, where you think we should go or what we should do. We are hitting the open road with an open mind to go where the wind takes us. If you want the latest updates on our travels and projects select follow below and leave us a comment. Safe travels my friends!
